A Little Bit About Me

| Sometimes, we only get one chance. Very specifically… one chance to live and one chance to make a good first impression. My name is Brian Downey, and I would like to share that chance with you. I am honest, loyal, hard working, and looking to make a great connection. My job at OPI lets me be creative, and help fix problems. It isn’t all about work though! Some of my free time is spent mentoring the under 25 yr old young men that find their way in here. We do this through a program that is sponsored by outside leaders of the community. Some of my other endeavors have included: running a marathon in here, facilitating classes for Red Cross, and judging poetry slam contests. Yes, it is a little known fact that we do – on occasion have fun in prison 🙂 Some of my favorite things are: Sailing, Paul Reed Smith guitars, good full belly laughter, and Star Wars over anything Star Trek! Je parle en peu francais, so a little French as well as Hebrew. My hair used to be blond/brown… I have alopecia universialis now, so I am without hair – from head to toe. It is still odd to see myself in a mirror |
